If you are scheduling for the first time and are not sure of the correct process, please follow the instructions here to ensure that you follow the correct protocol with the business owner.
By accepting this assignment, you will be representing OCUS in the eyes of our client. We count on you to demonstrate a high level of professionalism in your coming interactions. If a photoshoot already has an appointment scheduled, please respect this appointment and only assign yourself to the photoshoot if you are available at this time.
Assignments are not all the same. Please go to OCUS platform and verify the imagery you need to deliver.
DELIVERY
When and how to upload my images
Your priority is capturing excellent photos. To ensure consistency, OCUS is handling the post-production internally. Please respect the following requirements to make sure that we can deliver the best outcome to our client.
- Don’t edit any of your pictures (no crop, no edit). - Don’t erase your metadata. - Select your best shots and don't send more files than required. - Follow the naming convention below (take some notes during the photoshoot to keep all the needed information).

- Please make sure you upload your media in the correct category. - Don’t forget to validate your assignment after uploading your files. /!\ Send your pictures the same day than the photoshoot before midnight. /!\ Keep your RAW files until your mission is validated.
Sizing:
Dish Level Photo - crop ratio 1.4 : 1 , Plate center focus, 1440x1053 px
Listing Photo - crop ratio 1.9 : 1 website, Landscape, 4000x2080 px
Hero Photo - crop ratio 3.6 : 1 website, 4000x1100 px
PHOTOSHOOT OVERVIEW
Your mission is to display eye-pleasing pictures that make people eager to order food & products on foodpanda platform. Please read and follow these guidelines wisely, and make sure to:
- Highlight the restaurant.
- Make the dishes appear great.
The photoshoot should last between 1 and 3 hours depending on the number of dishes.
Do not hesitate to visit our Help Center to answer the questions you might have and click on the "Contact Us!" button (at the bottom of this guideline) to send us a message if needed. If the restaurant does not provide the full amount of dishes, a minimum of 70% of the dishes is required to complete the single dish shots and dish composition image.
The list below is a recap of all the photos that have to be taken during your photoshoot.
If you encounter any difficulties you can’t solve with the restaurant to do your work according to the guideline, please always contact the foodpanda account manager of the restaurant on the phone from the venue! A contact number will be always given by foodpanda in the comment part of the assignment on the OCUS platform.

- Neither backlight nor reflection on the dish.

Set-up example
Single Dish
Single dish pictures are composed of a single main dish, optionally surrounded by decorative props. Take a single main dish and center it in the frame, leaving 10 % empty space around the dish.
Change the angle of the shoot according to the type of the dish :
- 0° Front view for Hamburger, closed-top sandwich, wrap.
- 60° for soups, bowls.
- 90° top view for pizzas and salad, etc.
- 45° for all other dishes not fitting the categories above.
Quantity
You will find the quantity of the photos you need to make on the platform specified in the package.

Do
- Center the dish and anticipate the client cut ratio.
- Take a single main dish and center it in the frame. Pay attention to the empty space around the dish, don’t leave it too wide.
- Horizontal format angle use 0° for Hamburger, closed top sandwich, wrap, 60° for soups and bowls, 90° for pizzas and salads, and 45° for all other dishes by default.
- Food on the image must be as sharp as possible.
- We must see the ingredients clearly.
- Always use clean plates, oily spots or dirt can’t be shown.
- You should use minimal equipment from the restaurant, like cutlery, chopsticks, glasses.
- Use the correct angle according to the type of the dish, aim to capture the feeling of 'eating at home.
- Ask for the names of the dishes, you will need them when you name your files.
- You only can photograph products that the customer will get if they order a specific menu.
Ex. please do not group different drink options in 1 picture.
- You will know if it is a key account in the name of the package.
-FOR KEY ACCOUNTS: you can include branded items (ex. beverage brands or branded napkins) if you want. You will know if it is a standard or key account in the name of the package.
Don't
- Don’t shoot to close and include fully the dish on the frame.
- No watermark in the picture sent back to foodpanda, but only watermarked pictures to send back automatically to restaurants directly in email.
- Don’t photograph alcohol bottles unless the restaurant manager requests it.
- Don't shoot food directly on the table.
- Don't shoot plastic container (food must be on a plate).
- Do not shoot on a white background and avoid background with strong pattern.

Dish composition for Listing & Hero pictures
Dish composition pictures are composed of a single main dish surrounded by secondary dishes and decorative props.
If the restaurant does not provide the full amount of dishes, a minimum of 3 dishes is required to complete the single dish shots and composition images.
The listing photo should be the most catchy picture, representing the restaurant. This is the most important picture of each photoshoot, as this is the photo used in the foodpanda Platform before the customer selects and opens the restaurant’s page.
Here is an example of a listing photo displayed on the foodpanda’s platform:

The Hero photo is the photo used on the platform above the menu. It shows typical dishes of the restaurant. It’s the second picture they see if they were convinced by the listing picture to check the restaurant.

Do
- Play with the colors of the dishes to make the visual more attractive.
- Use a 90° angle for all restaurant types, 45° remain an exception for drinks composition.
- We must see the ingredients clearly.
- Compose the image with one central main dish and other plates and props around (minimum 1 centered dishes and surrounded by 2).
- Option: creatively add decoration and props behind or next to the dishes.
Don't
- Do not shoot cutlery or chopsticks.
- Do not show any hands in the frame.
- Don't shoot plastic containers (food must be on a plate).
- Don’t photograph alcohol bottles unless the restaurant manager requests it.
- Don't shoot food directly on the table.
